In a significant leadership shift at one of India’s most influential tech companies, Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato and long-time chief of Eternal Limited (the listed parent of Zomato, Blinkit and other consumer tech ventures), has announced his resignation as Group CEO and Managing Director, effective February 1, 2026. Goyal’s decision comes as he expressed a desire to focus on high-risk, innovative projects outside the scope of a public company. He plans to stay closely involved with Eternal by transitioning into the role of Vice Chairman and Director on the board, where he will contribute to long-term strategy and governance.
Replacing him at the helm is Albinder Dhindsa, the founder and CEO of Blinkit, Eternal’s quick-commerce arm, who will officially take over as Group CEO from the start of next month. Dhindsa’s track record in scaling Blinkit and driving operational execution makes him a strategic choice to guide Eternal’s next growth phase, especially amid a booming quick-commerce market and strong quarterly results for the group. This leadership transition aims to maintain continuity across Eternal’s core businesses while aligning day-to-day operations with Dhindsa’s hands-on approach.
