The Gujarat government’s integrated emergency response system (Dial 112) has attended to more than 3.82 lakh emergency incidents in the last four months, highlighting the growing reliance on the unified helpline for urgent public safety needs. Officials reported that the service has been actively responding to police, fire, medical, and disaster-related emergencies, providing quicker assistance through a centralized control and command system across the state. The initiative aims to streamline emergency services by offering citizens a single number for all critical situations.
Authorities stated that continuous improvements in response time, technology integration, and deployment of emergency vehicles have significantly enhanced service efficiency. The 112 helpline was launched to replace multiple emergency contact numbers and strengthen coordination between departments. With increasing public awareness and usage, the service has become a crucial part of Gujarat’s safety infrastructure, helping authorities manage emergencies more effectively and ensuring faster relief for citizens in distress.
