Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has voiced serious concerns over the proposed constituency delimitation exercise, urging the central government to act with caution and transparency. He emphasized that any move to redraw parliamentary boundaries without proper consultation could adversely impact southern states, including Tamil Nadu, which have successfully implemented population control measures over the years. Stalin warned that decisions taken without consensus could disrupt the balance of representation and weaken federal principles.
Highlighting the sensitivity of the issue, Stalin described the delimitation process as a critical matter that could trigger widespread opposition if handled unfairly. He called on the Centre to provide clear assurances that no state would lose its rightful political representation. The Chief Minister also indicated that his party and allied leaders are prepared to strongly oppose any unilateral decision, stressing that safeguarding state interests remains a top priority amid growing political tensions.
