The Telangana School Education Department has announced that schools across the state will operate on a half-day schedule starting March 15 until April 23 due to increasing summer temperatures. The decision applies to government, aided, and private schools, ensuring that students are not exposed to extreme afternoon heat during the peak summer period. According to officials, classes will generally be conducted from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, allowing students to return home before temperatures rise significantly.
Authorities said the move is aimed at protecting students’ health and maintaining regular academic activities while minimizing the risk of heat-related problems. In schools serving as SSC examination centers, special arrangements will be made to conduct exams and related academic activities in the afternoon hours. Officials also confirmed that summer vacations are expected to begin from April 24, giving students a break after the half-day schedule period ends.
