Chief Minister-designate D.K. The proposed underground corridor, stretching nearly 17 kilometers between key traffic zones in the city, has been promoted as a long-term solution to Bengaluru’s growing congestion problems. Adani Enterprises emerged as the lowest bidder for the project, but its proposal reportedly exceeds the government’s original cost estimate, making cabinet approval necessary before work can proceed.
The project carries both administrative and political significance because it has long been associated with Shivakumar’s urban development vision for Bengaluru. Supporters argue that the tunnel road could improve travel times and ease pressure on existing roads, while critics have raised concerns over project costs and implementation challenges.
