Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) once again created history by successfully defending their Indian Premier League title, sparking celebrations among cricket fans across Karnataka and beyond. However, unlike traditional championship festivities, Bengaluru has chosen a restrained approach this year, with authorities discouraging large public gatherings and road celebrations. Police officials issued advisories urging supporters to celebrate responsibly, emphasizing public safety and crowd control measures.
The decision is largely linked to concerns arising from the tragic crowd crush that occurred during post-title celebrations in 2025 near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. Since then, authorities have implemented stricter protocols for major public events. Reports indicate that no official victory parade has been planned for the 2026 title celebrations, with organizers and civic authorities prioritizing safety over large-scale public gatherings. RCB captain Rajat Patidar also dedicated the team’s latest championship victory to those affected by the previous year’s tragedy, highlighting the emotional significance behind the cautious celebrations.
