Mumbai: The Maharashtra government is planning a major reform in the land measurement system by introducing private agencies to carry out surveys across the state. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the initiative aims to significantly speed up the land survey process and reduce the delays faced by farmers and property owners. Under the proposed plan, the government is working toward completing land measurement procedures within 15 days.
The new approach will involve licensed private survey organizations assisting the revenue department in conducting measurements and boundary verification. Officials say the move is expected to improve efficiency, clear pending cases, and bring greater transparency to land records and property transactions. The government also plans to strengthen administrative coordination at district and taluka levels to ensure the survey process runs smoothly.
