Early on Tuesday morning, a tragic collision on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district claimed the lives of at least six people and left seven others seriously injured. The fatal accident occurred near milestone 141 under the jurisdiction of Sadabad police, when a private double-decker bus traveling from Noida to Gorakhpur rear-ended a van carrying 13 passengers heading toward Dholpur, Rajasthan. The impact was so severe that the van was crushed and displaced off the highway, prompting urgent rescue efforts by local authorities.
Among the deceased were several adults from Gangoli village in Rajakhera, while the injured — including children — were rushed to medical facilities such as SN Medical College, Agra. Police have detained the bus driver and conductor for questioning as investigations continue, with preliminary reports suggesting negligence and overspeeding may have contributed to the horrific collision. Traffic was disrupted along the expressway as emergency crews cleared the wreckage and assisted victims.
